Abstract
การแพร่ระบาดของไวรัสโคโรนาสายพันธุ์ใหม่ (SARS-CoV-2) ได้เริ่มขึ้นที่เมืองอู่ฮั่น มณฑลหูเป่ย์ สาธารณรัฐประชาชนจีน ตั้งแต่วันที่ 30 ธันวาคม พ.ศ.2562 และประมาณกลางเดือนกุมภาพันธ์ พ.ศ.2563 องค์การอนามัยโลก (World Health Organization: WHO) ได้ตั้งชื่อโรคของการติดเชื้อไวรัส SARS-CoV-2 ชนิดนี้ว่า โควิด-19 (COVID-19) และต่อมาได้ประกาศให้เป็นการระบาดใหญ่ทั่วโลก เมื่อวันที่ 11 มีนาคม พ.ศ.2563 ซึ่งอาการของโรคโควิด-19 จะพบได้หลากหลาย ตั้งแต่ไม่แสดงอาการจนถึงระบบการหายใจล้มเหลว โดยที่ความรุนแรงของโรคจะสัมพันธ์กับโรคประจำตัวของผู้ป่วยแต่ละคน เช่น ความดันโลหิตสูง เบาหวาน และโรคหัวใจ เป็นต้น และอัตราการเสียชีวิตจะสูงในผู้ป่วยที่อ่อนแอ และสูงอายุ1
