Abstract
This academic article is a summary of content from textbooks and research on caregiver relatives who care for chronic patients at home will be adversely affected, both physically psycho-emotional and social resulting in carers' relatives experiencing chronic stress which will directly negatively affect the health status of caregivers. Especially relatives who look after their spouses have existing health problems and are elderly It can be said that caregivers are at risk groups that health personnel should not overlook. However, the current health service system focuses on providing caregivers for care of chronic patients. But does not consider the welfare of relatives
This article is an analytical writing from research to reflect The impact on patients and caregivers to provide caregivers' care and assistance continuously from patients being treated in hospitals to homes. To ensure continuity in care for both chronic patients and caregivers so that caregivers can provide effective care for chronic patients, chronic caregiver relatives are members of the family who play a major role in caring for patients according to the problems and needs of each stage of survival of patients from the first diagnosed stage to the final stage of life. Therefore, nurses need to have knowledge and understanding about the effects of patients and caregivers. Related factors and needs of relatives of caregivers of chronic diseases, which will provide nurses with effective ways to help relatives caregivers.
