Ethic of Head Nurse at Buriram Hospital

Abstract
Back ground: The Ethics level of the head nurses have priority to the operation of the register nurses and the development of nursing quality.
Objective:
1. To measure the ethics level of head nurses.
2. Compare the ethics level of the head nurses which had been measured by the head nurses and the register nurses.
Setting: Buriram hospital
Research design: Crossectional Descriptive Research.
Population: 31 head nurses and 319 register nurses who had experienced at least 1 year in ward.
Methods: Researched tool were questionnaires. Statistic that used for data analysis were Mean, Percentage, Standard Deviation and t-test.
Result: Most of the head nurse were between 41-50 years old, their educational level were Bachelor's Degree, interval of their position were from 1-5 years. For the ethics level by acknowledge of the head nurse were on high level in every aspects. General Principles aspect have maximum average score, followed by the treating to their vocational colleagues aspect and the advertising of nursing vocational career aspect. For the ethics level of the head nurse on the acknowledge of on duty regular nurses were on the high level in every aspects. The advertising of nursing vocational career had maximum average score, followed by the General Principles aspect, the treating to the patient or services receivers and the treating to their vocational career. There was statistically significant different between head nurses and register nurses in ethics level.
Conclusion: The head nurses ethical level database from this study will base the staff's ethical development plan of Buriram Hospital. Outcome of this research consequently resulted in addition of professional ethics aspect into hospital's vision and also create hospital ethics committee.
