How to Print Prepack Sticker and Continuous Sticker by Using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word Programs

Abstract

Problem/background: To print most of the drug labels in continuous sticker require ready program that made for printing them. If we can print drug labels by using common programs that have in most computers, it will be alternative convenient choice that we can print drug labels by ourself, without depend on ready made program.
Research question/objective: To print drug labels in continuous sticker by using microsoft excel and microsoft word programs which are basic programs in computers.
Setting: General hospital.
Research design: Experimental study.
Material: Computer that has microsoft excel and microsoft word programs; dot matrix printer; continuous sticker size 3 or 4 holes.
Methods: Made mail merge in microsoft word program by using data in microsoft excel program then tried to set index of pages and printed in continuous sticker.
Results: Can print drug labels in continuous sticker by using microsoft excel and microsoft word programs.
Conclusion: Using microsoft excel and microsoft word programs which are basic programs in most computers, can print many types of drug labels. This include prepack sticker that become useful for pharmacists, labels of drug that produced in hospital, labels that calculating from microsoft excel program and also can type any words in continuous sticker without using ready made program.
