Abstract

Odontomas are the most common benign odontogenic tumors. Most of them are diagnosed in the second decade of life. Typically, odontomas are asymptomatic and are discovered incidentally on routine radiographs. Odontomas are divided into two types, compound odontoma and complex odontoma. This article reports a case study of a 5-year-old pediatric patient with a large complex odontoma and two impacted teeth of the left mandible, presenting with a marked swelling asymmetry at face. The patient was treated by total enucleation using an intraoral approach. In the 7-months follow-up, normal bone healing was revealed with no any recurrence. Both impacted teeth moved closer to the alveolar ridge. The patient had better symmetrical face shape.
