Abstract

This descriptive research aimed to: 1) study the work performance of personnel at the Urban Health Development Institute and 2) examine the factors related to work performance among personnel at the Urban Health Development Institute. Samples consisted of 215 personnel, including government officials, permanent employees, government employees, and Ministry of Public Health employees working at the Urban Health Development Institute. Research instrument was a questionnaire with a reliability coefficient of 0.899. Data were analyzed using frequencies, percentages, means, standard deviations, and Pearson’s product moment correlation coefficients.

The results revealed that the overall work performance of personnel was at the highest level (equation=4.50, SD=0.524). Among the dimensions of work performance, the highest mean score was found in work quantity, followed by time management and cost efficiency. Overall motivational factors were at the highest level (equation=4.38, SD=0.515), with achievement showing the highest mean score. The overall hygiene factors were also at the highest level (equation=4.43, SD=0.519), with interpersonal relationships receiving the highest mean score. Furthermore, motivational factors were positively correlated with work performance at a very high level (r=0.804), while hygiene factors were also positively correlated with work performance at a very high level (r=0.818). Both relationships were statistically significant at the 0.01 level.

The findings indicate that enhancing motivational factors and improving hygiene factors within the organization, particularly achievement, responsibility, recognition, and interpersonal relationships, can contribute to higher levels of employee work performance.
