7-Dimensional Early Childhood Human Capital Development and Health Wellness Promotion Perspectives New Trends in Thailand: An Integrative Literature Review

Human capital development in early childhood (ages 2–6) is a critical foundation for Thailand’s economic and social strength. This article analyzes health and wellness promotion and human capital development using a mixed-method literature review and policy document analysis of peer-reviewed studies published between 2020-2024 in Thailand and comparable contexts. Data were examined through thematic content analysis and narrative synthesis to derive key lessons and policy recommendations.
Findings indicate persistent inequalities in access to health services, especially among low-income families and those in remote areas. Malnutrition affects 18.6% of children in low-income households, while 24.3 percent of urban children are overweight or obese; 12.4 percent of preschoolers have behavioral or emotional problems, and average daily screen time reaches 4.2 hours, exceeding WHO recommendations. Nurses play a key role in promoting nutrition, mental health, cognitive development, and health equity, while the seven-dimension early childhood human capital framework should be integrated into policy, training, family engagement, assessment tools, technology literacy, and community participation.
