Effects of “COVID Check” Line Application on Knowledge of COVID-19 among Air Technical Training Students, Academic Year 2022

Abstract

This quasi-experimental research aimed to study the effects of “COVID Check” Line application on knowledge of COVID-19 among air technical training students in academic year 2022. Samples were randomly selected which consisting of 60 air technical training students. The samples were equally divided into an experimental group (n=30) that received knowledge of COVID-19 through “COVID Check” line application for 20 minutes 1 time a day during 2 weeks and a control group (n=30) receiving information of knowledge related to COVID-19 through daily announcement 20 minutes per day for 2 weeks. The research instruments included Line application “COVID Check”, a questionnaire containing questions on general information, knowledge regarding COVID-19 with content validity index of 0.98 and reliability of 0.82. The implementation and data collection were conducted from November to December 2022. Data were analyzed using frequencies, percentages, means, standard deviations, independent t-test, and dependent t-test.

The results revealed that 1) COVID-19 knowledge mean score after the implementation (=24.77, SD=0.57) was significantly higher that of before the implementation (=18.97, SD=3.15) with t=6.26, p-value<0.05; and 2) COVID-19 knowledge mean score after the implementation among the experimental group (=24.77, SD=0.57) was significantly higher than that of the control group (=19.13, SD=1.07) with t=3.07, p-value<0.05. The study suggested that “COVID Check” Line application can increase knowledge related to COVID-19 among air technical training students.
